Setting the First Accounting Period
Since ZOLL Billing automatically records all posted charges, payments, and adjustments to the appropriate accounting period, you will see a list of every accounting period since you started using ZOLL Billing listed on the Accounting Periods page. From the list of accounting periods, you must select the period you want to set as your starting period. You can change the starting period at any time until you close your first period. After you set the starting period, the system ignores the data of all the previous periods.
- On the navigation bar, click Accounting Periods.
The system provides help and guidance the first time you go through the closing process. Take the time to read the information before proceeding.
-
After you read the help information, click Set my starting period.
-
Click the radio bullet next to a starting period date. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and click Make this my starting period.
-
When the page reloads, you will see several changes:
-
The "Set my starting period" button changes to "Change my starting period."
-
All periods prior to the period you selected are grayed out and marked “Ignored” which means that their balances and balance forward values (marked n/a) do not count.
-
You can close accounting periods starting with your starting period.
